Well I want you to know that is took more thought that I would hoped. Picking my winners was a greater challenge this year because I am connected to a lot more bloggers this year. I also want to let everyone know that this also necessitated some rules for the awards:
1) The person must have a blog – you don’t necessarily have to have a WordPress blog but you must have a website that you write or post on.
2) You have to have at least acknowledged my existence through a like or comment or a connection I can verify.
3) No Spammers
That said each individual reward has its own rules but I think they are all golden in their own way.
The Silver Lips – I reserve the right to hand out as many of these as I would like. You have to have made at least one comment to get these as they are about comments. The reason I give them out is individual depending on my whim. Shaped as a pair of female lips puckered up, there are three winners this year:
Most Comments – CONFESSIONSOFAMIE. Amie is not her real name and she has not posted in quite some time. Last I heard she was trying to get a new start by moving to a new city, getting a new job and had a new boyfriend. Good for her but I do miss her comments and she had well over one hundred on this blog in a very short amount of time.
Most Insightful Comments – pipermac5 – Piper really engages me at times. He is not just interested in saying good job but likes discussion on the issue presented from time to time. I have often been inspired and encouraged by what he says. Thanks and Well Done.
Most Influential Comment – Opinionated Man – This was actually a comment on one of my pages where he asked if it was Ok to write a post about me which I responded with post that basically went viral for about 2 hours. It generated the post that dethroned Pint the Dog as the most liked post and caused me to pick up more than a few followers. It all started with a simple comment.
The Gold Coffee Cup – This is the second year for the Golden Coffee Cup. This goes to the blogger who makes me think the most and is simply a golden coffee mug with the word THINK on the side. There are only one of these and this years winner is the same as last year’s – The Culture Monk. The man writes well and he is well thought out. I have never failed to read him and not find my thoughts changed, challenged or inspired.
The Golden Naked Couple – This is also the second year for the award. It is given to the blogger who was the most helpful in getting more exposure for the blog. The award depicts a naked couple walking arm and arm. This was the hardest award to measure because there have been so many helpful people this year. Two have been mentioned already in pipermac5 (his influence is mostly felt in my Twitter follows I have gotten over the last few months), Opinionated Man also helped me for a month or so because of his post on his blog but the fact remains that there are some bloggers whose influence extends to others and when you track everything down. The fact is the thing that has drawn the most new everything to my blog is the nudity and nakedness issues I have written on over the past two years and the blog that has done the most to bring people to me because of that is Clothes Free Life (formerly home clothes free) . They are also now a two-time winner. Thanks guys and gals.
The Bronze Beagle – This award is brand new and is given as a ‘gone but not forgotten’ award. It depicts a sleeping beagle (Pint) in bronze. It is given to a blogger who I enjoyed a lot once upon a time but hasn’t blogged in a while (at least six months). This years winner – The Jiggly Bits by Teeny Bikini. This woman was just plain funny but last year about this time she posted her last post and I haven’t heard from her since. Another female blogger who I miss. Gone but not forgotten.
That is all folks. If you are striving for a Rabyd Award, make some notes and do the work.
Blessings and Cheers!!!
