I have written on this before but it bears repeating especially now. The simple and best way to keep yourself motivated in fitness is stand naked in front of the mirror. Stay there until you are either angry enough to do something about it and then go do something or stand their until you know your resolve will not waver the next time you have a workout. The competition is defined by the mirror not the bathroom scale. This is why the biggest loser stuff does not work for me because I don’t get motivated by losing pounds. I get motivated by looking in the mirror and seeing what needs to be done.
These days I have been spending more time than usual in front of the mirror. In my honest opinion I am probably back to where I was four years ago but with the advantage of having muscle underneath my skin that will remember when the weights hit them. I predict that it will not take long to get back to where I was a year ago once things get back in motion.
The challenge has been to get things back in motion. I am motivated but not in motion for some reason. That is the challenge before me right now. The rundown:
Flexibility: Been doing some stretching and yoga poses but nothing major.
Nutrition: Lots more water and not a lot of anything else other than juice for breakfast. Keeping the carbs minimal as possible but without the work things are going very slowly.
My only real enemy is myself. However this is an enemy I have faced before. Let’s see what February brings.
Blessings and Cheers!!!
