There is only one problem in the writing world that I am having right now and that is doing the hard stuff. Writing the hard stuff involves writing on the things that a) I am not really fired up to write on at that moment or b) involves more research than I want to put time into at that moment. Don’t get me wrong, I love research most times but like writing I get tired at times of researching on the same topic for great lengths of time. I like learning things but I prefer learning a lot of things at the same time, than focus in on one thing and researching it to death.
The problem is the more and more I read great writers, they will tell you that it is the hard writing that leads to the greatest moments of genius. That’s the part I am working on and it gets reflected in the blog all the time. The beginning of the week is usually great but as I approach the posts at the end of the week it gets harder and harder because the nature of the posts gets harder and harder in many respects at least from my perspective. I have a strong suspicion that if I ever have full week on this blog, I will have at least a minor breakthrough in my writing.
The rest of the rundown:
Family: All of my children are out of my house and I am wondering if it is wrong to feel so happy about that. I guess I am happy now because I can pursue the things I want to pursue without worrying about someone else’s schedule or needs. I do however miss talking with my kids at times. My sons are pretty much like me and just don’t ask someone how they are doing. We just assume that people are alright until they tell us different.
Finances: I he a pretty good plan to get the one debt I have paid down as quickly as possible. I don’t known what my tax refund will be but I am recommending that we put it all toward this debt to make it shrink quickly. I don’t know if it will make it go away by the end of the year but that is the goal.
Reading: If I add reading to my to do list it might get done. Just trying to take the daily discipline one addition at a time.
Writing: Already talked about this a lot already. Now if anything, I can add a new motivation to getting my non-fiction book done. I really need to lay out my philosophy of the relationship between God, the state, religion and the citizen for my own clarity as much as anyone else’s.
Blessings and Cheers!!!
