Shigri was leading us to her tribe. Our first encounter with her had ended peacefully enough. Once I informed her that I had been sent here by the Game Master, she put her sword away. A further telling of our story quickly gained her support as she realized the Rotting Hand Tribe was just being themselves and trying to kill someone to plunder she offered to lead us to her tribe and her chieftain. The road was off course subterranean and thankfully fairly short. Shigri told us to hurry as this Rotting hand patrolled this route quite often. I could see Lytria looking more anxious with every side passage we passed. The change must be about to happen soon and I had only the slim hope it was close enough to the double new moon for her to control herself once she was a werewolf.
I was glad we had a guide and knew I would never find my way back even if I wanted to. I simply wanted to find Tequila and get back to my own world. How feasible that was I didn’t really care because it was my chief objective regardless. Shigri seemed genuinely moved by my quest but her sensual titan like body moved through the tunnels like a stealthy panther. I got very little out of her other than her tribe was pretty much enemies of all the others because of what they were. No further explanation was offered so I didn’t pry. I mean Shigri was almost as big as me.
After a couple of hours Shigri asked us to stop. She whispered something to Lytria and then turned to me.
“My tribe is up ahead. Bartender, you must understand that you will be the only male and my people have a distrust of males so be cautious.”
“Why are there no males?”
“Chieftain will explain to you. I must take you directly to her with no stops, so do not get distracted by anything you see and keep following me.”
Shigri then moved forward again and I noticed that Lytria had basically stripped down to her waist. Must be that it was cultural taboo for a woman to cover her breasts in the tribe. Lytria had nothing to be ashamed of so I follow,ed Shigri and in moments we were walking into a well lit chamber that looked to have a ceiling about fifty feet overhead. The room was divided up by huts of various sizes making a small but very clean subterranean village.
Every person I saw was female, half orc and naked to the waist. Some looked more fine of features like they were half elvish and others looked like they were half human. All of them stopped to stare at me. Shigri kept moving and so did I but I could feel a small amount of hatred mixed with curiosity burning on my back as I kept moving. Shigri took me to a large hut in the corner of the chamber. She opened the flap to it and let me in but closed it behind me without following.
I found myself in a smoky room and sitting on a ledge about three feet off the ground was a younger female half orc. She looked more like a green elf with very small orcish tusks and delicate features. She was naked but I could only see part of her as she had a blanket partially wrapped around her. A fire nearby lit her features but she did not turn to look at me but kept staring at the wall.
“Ah, barkeep. Shigri has succeed in finding you, this is good.”
“Do I know you?”
“No, but my sight foresaw you coming and I know your mission to find your love.”
“Clairvoyant then, why would you help me?”
“It is the dream of every woman of this tribe to have a male love her as much. Well, not all, as some have developed only hatred in their hearts for men and others love for their own sex. However, the notion of a male who would brave all to find his love is not lost to our womanly hearts.”
“So the tribe is only females?”
“Yes, being half-orc makes us all sterile. None of us will bear a child. For male half orcs this is not a complete curse as their chiefs will still want them as warriors but a female who cannot breed is useless and cast out. They are left to die as naked infants on the cold stone. Every woman here is an outcast but we have made them family. We find them and make them our own.”
“A tribe of outcasts? Sorry to hear about your sterility. I wish I could do something.”
“Oh, but you can. You see there is some way you can help us and in return we will help you.”
“Ok, what’s the deal?”
“I have long theorized that our sterility is not the fault of our human or elvish half but that male orcs are the ones who cannot impregnate us. What we have never tried is either a human or elvish male.”
“Why not, are they in short supply?”
“You jest, but in a way yes. You see our position as a tribe has no access to the outside. We are trapped on all sides by other tribes. All of them have access to the surface. That is how they get their slave girls, they kill all males either elvish or human.”
“So you have never had a male human or elf in your camp before.”
“Oh, wait a minute. I am already spoken for.”
“Yes, I understand other tribes have different customs but ours is about exchange. Male orc tribes often exchange mates for the evening as a sign of respect and mutual cooperation. In a sense I am asking for the same thing. I ask only that you breed with one of us. You can choose whoever you want, even me.”
At that moment, the chieftain threw aside her blanket and stood up. I had to admit that she was a pretty and lovely woman. Her elven half definitely shown through and she looked very much like a taller, greener elf with small tusks and jet black hair that cascaded over her shoulders. Her figure and skin were flawless. Never had sex with a half orc female before so it would be a unique experience.
I walked over and looked at her. I grabbed the blanket from off the shelf and then wrapped it around her.
“Listen, I might be able to find you an alternative than selling your pride and honor for a chance at having a child. If I can find a way to the surface or another male that is human or elvish that is willing would that be acceptable.”
The chieftain laughed. I became worried that I had offended her in some way.
“Had you bred me, I would have slit your throat for your treachery to your future mate at the moment you planted your seed in me. You passed my test Barkeep. We will help you for this offer. I accept your terms.”
“Just like that?”
“Yes, it was your story that drew me too finding you; had you betrayed that story, you would have shown no honor. Your honor and promise to try will be enough. I will have Shigri guide you and if you need my strength to fight, it will be ready for your call.”
I left her tent with a new friend and allied to the tribe. Lytria and Shigri looked at me with raised eyebrows as I exited but I was looking for a large body of cold water and found a bucket of it near a well in the center of the village and poured it over my head.
