I enjoyed this week in the shop as far as now I am feeling I am getting back into the routine and regularity of working out. What I did not like as much as a I thought I would was my new split. In understand very much the necessity of working things that need more work earlier in the week or right after rest days. So the reason for my chest, deltoids, biceps and triceps being moved forward made a lot of sense. The problem is more psychology in that I tend to put much more effort early too so the intensity level drops slightly as the week goes on. I don’t know though because this week being Easter and me being a pastor means more involvement in other things so I was definitely in the midst of a distracting week. That said I try to make adjustments week to week and I think my whole split needs to be rethought.
That said things are going well. I can feel the old me starting to be re-forged by the iron. I am feeling better than I have for months.
Cardio – Need to have my bike fixed by the end of the week or some other alternative presented. I need at least six weeks of cardio to get ready for summer cardio. My single greatest problem is my knees and I need something either low or no impact.
Flexibility – Need to find my yoga videos for the beginner level by tomorrow or it is time to reorder them. Want six weeks of this as well before summer.
Nutrition – same. When May comes I will have to start detailing my paleo plan for the summer. Lots of water. Thing is I have been lifting now for five weeks and the only supplement I miss right now is some form of NOS. It was always great to use a pre-workout supplement that just boosted pretty much everything. For recovery, maybe I will start using Creative but so far I have been able to recover pretty well. When it gets difficult to recover form my workouts: muscle and joint recovery becomes more important. That and my testosterone level. So far though haven’t needed much.
Strength – Like I said. My split needs some adjustment. Doing leg day last did take some of the intensity out of it. I will stick with it one more week just to make sure it was not the business of the last week. My resistance levels are getting challenging and that is a good thing. When you can deadlift 225lbs. fairly well it makes moving boxes that are much lighter fairly easy.
Blessings and Cheers!!!
