I suppose the level of frustration gets higher when you thought things had changed and you thought you were finally making progress toward your goals then someone else steps in an turns back the clock back to where it was. I have not had a few good days here. My real issue is that much of what has happened has happened is because of the actions of others and with not so much as “Is this OK” said to me. In Superman terms my fortress of solitude has been invaded again and now I have to readjust things again. That said I have been keeping several writing projects on the shelf for a while and really there is no one stopping me from writing but myself. It seems it is the one area where people in my life don’t see it as OK to interfere with it. I wish it were the same elsewhere.
List of Writing Projects:
1. Mount and Blade: Warband – fan fiction serial. I am looking at writing a serial based on my playing o the Game Mount and Blade: Warband. It puts you in a world of feudal society with a very open design. You really can do anything you want. My issue is to write an entertaining and maybe theme based serial but I have not decided if to make this a part of this blog or create a whole new one for this purpose. I still am debating. I have been playing the game with different characters to see what is possible to do and I am not sure I have exhausted everything I can do.
2. My non-fiction book: I have a great idea which I think will sell. The outline is set and I have even written a more flesh out outline and parts of some chapters. The real issue is to get disciplined enough to work on it regularly.
3. This blog: Still a labor of love. I have posted at least one post a day since the beginning of the year and that to be quite frank is the goal for this year to put something on here everyday. I don’t know even yet if I will be successful but there is no harm in trying.
4, NaNoWriMo prep: As weird as it is to say it National Novel Writing Month is on the horizon. I just want to have a good plan this year because when I have a really good plan I succeed.
Family – Yeah, I swear the idea od talking to someone before making a decision is a foreign concept to some in my family. I work very hard to treat people in my families, equally and has human beings. I wish this was reciprocated.
Finances – A few things to do before I start school. Need to get a second transcript from my masters degree. The hope is that I can get a philosophy concentration on my political science degree right out the gate. This would cut down the time to completion and I might be done as quickly as two years depending on how heavy a course load I take. Being this is about a long term solution to my money issues, the quicker the better.
Writing – See above.
Reading – I said last week I watched a movie of something before I read the book and this is a rare thing for me. The issue is the book is huge and this is evidenced by the fact it took three movies to cover its length. That movie and book? Atlas Shrugged. This is a monster book but I plan to eat it like you eat an elephant – one bite at a time. It has three-parts and I plan on writing a review on each part as I go.
Blessings and Cheers!!!
