I really don’t like politics at times but I am not afraid to play the game. I would much rather sit everyone down and talk to them and come up with a win-win scenario but people don’t always see it that way. I am also usually not a very vocal politician publicly. It stems from an old saying that I think is double true in politics – ‘better to remain quiet and let people think you are a fool, than open your mouth and remove all doubt.’ I really try to make sure that when I speak that what I have to say has substance. So when I do speak and people ignore me, well that’s when I go into ‘keep calm and let the games begin.’
Like I said as a libertarian I would much rather follow the NAP and only use force when people try to take some one else’s or my rights but sometimes force is required when I think that is exactly what is going on. I also would much rather stay out of the box in Leadership and Self Deception terms and not have a fight to begin with because it ultimately is counter productive. However, when people don’t leave me an option I continue on staying out of the box but I am not afraid to use the force necessary to protect people from other people’s power. I think the games have begun. I will fight fair of course but that doesn’t mean I will not fight smart.
Celebration – In six days the church will be celebrating 145 years of existence. I am looking forward to the picnic, community and baptism service. Should be a great celebration.
Ministry – See above. But I would add that things at the church seem to be going better but that includes me not really coming up with any ideas.
Spiritual Disciplines – Little bit more intense given the things I am facing. Definitely want to think and feel clearly on this one.
Leadership – I had my first meeting with the MOISD. It was quick, lacked something and it was clearly a defensive one with the powers that be have protected themselves by keeping themselves in office. The three of us that were first time meeting people, are just trustees. Not even an olive branch of asking if one of the true first timers if they wanted to serve. Its Ok though, being a trustee gives me full freedom to be a pain in the butt and get away with it. 😉
Blessings and Cheers!!!
