I have a strange feeling that in tis next week the beginning of a lot of changes will occur. There is just a lot of things I want to get started on and this is the week to get them going. There may be a new era ahead and I really hope so because this last one is starting to get tired and old for me. I need something new and challenging and I am hoping that starting some things this week will get that going.
- I am meeting with my superintendent for the MOISD on Tuesday. He and I do need to get to know one another better. I am hoping to begin a better working relationship because I have never been a good rubber stamper and I expect the board to have their own vision and leadership of the school district.
- Thursday will be a full day of orientation for school including signing up for classes. I am hoping that the credits I receive from my other degrees will be significant.
- I am going to spend Wednesday visiting three gyms in the Big Rapids area. I want to see which one might be the best fit for my I have about ten things I am looing for and the one who meets those criteria the best will be the winner. The Body Rabyd posts need to get much better.
The Spirit Rundown:
Leadership – The MOISD thing is now coupled with being a student in the realm of political science. I am wondering if the two can combine in some way.
Ministry – I should not short change the church in this new era I feel coming. On September 6th I will have been at Hersey Congregational Church for seven years. That puts me in the top four for length of stay at the church. There is one other guy who stayed for that long. My predecessor stayed for nine years and there was one guy who ministered there from 1958 to 1974. Point is I have been their a while and I am trying to get people motivated once again to move forward. I am at the end of my sabbatical year of ideas so soon and very soon I will have to start presenting some ideas to the people. Hopefully they will actually be acted upon positively.
Celebration – The paper ran a story about the church and our needs as far as the building. I am almost ready to do crowd funding on the internet for funding at this point. we have about a fourth of what w will need to completely finish our renovations to a 142 year old building. It was nice though to see some positive press.
Spiritual Disciplines – This has been a week of prayer and meditation and it seems to be paying off.
Blessings and Cheers!!!
