It has been a great week for fitness. I hit every exercise this week. The only thing I am growing tired of is the only two days a week thing definitely want to make sure next semester I push my classes further up in the morning if possible. The gym I go to contains the right number of people or less when I go at 11am, but it seems to stay that way al the way to 1pm and probably beyond so if can be done with class by 1 or 2pm next semester I should be able to lift five days a week and that will be good.
I actually had one of the staff at the gym ask me how I was doing. I guess the fact that I have been consistently there for the last two months has made them realize I am serious. It was nice to be asked ‘how ya doing’ though, even though I am have only been back a couple of months at weightlifting. Talk to me in a year.
I have lost weight I am sure but I don’t know how much because as I mentioned before I don’t think this is the best way to motivate yourself. My way is still to step in front of a mirror right before I take a shower and stay their till I am motivated to act long term. The big thing for me is to make progress on ever lifting exercise I do and that mean increasing the weight regularly right now.
The Body Rundown:
Cardio: I am kind of in agreement with the meme above that cardio is anything more than five reps. I know it certainly works for me which why I keep weightlifting s my foundation and core of what I do. My class schedule is such that I find myself walking all over campus and everywhere I go in between classes as well and I even have parked off campus even further than I could to extend the walking with the backpack thing. It is working but eventually I will have to do some formal cardio.
Nutrition: Not to concerned about this right now. Talk to me in February or March.
Flexibility: Starting a new thing next week which will make my workouts longer but it is needed and that is a full body stretch before I lift. my muscles are starting to develop kinks and I want to get them out.
Weight Lifting: Making another major change. I have been officially back for eight weeks and that usually means it is time to shake things up so my body doesn’t completely adapt to what I am doing. I will not only be adding a full body stretch but also a fourth set to each exercise. The pyramid up will move the 60%/80%/100% of max at 8-10 reps to 60%/75%/90%/100% of max at 8-10 reps. I will keep this through the next eight weeks which will be around Christmas time then it will be time for another change.
Blessings and Cheers!!!
