Once I got past the gate guards I followed around Mr. Lies mansion until I found the ramp downward in to the cellar. Once I was out of the view of the guards I slowed down to a stop and got out but kept the engine running. I looked around and I figured this was the time to the switch things up. I opened the truck doors and started releasing the ‘slaves’ one by one. Once I got one free we worked together and in short order everyone was free and then we started going through the barrels. The false bottoms on the barrels worked perfectly and pretty soon everyone was dressed again and had their weapons.
Jade Slade was little irritated but she calmed down once I told her the end of the plan. She smiled and began to help hold the barrels which no only contained my Blood Moon Wine so they didn’t tip over as we drove further down into the cellar. Thankfully no one was down there and with Shrike’s written direction we quickly found the fifty Blood Wine Barrels we were looking for.
I used my pump to take small bit out of each barrel and then replace it with my Blood Moon wine. We had to work quickly so it became an assembly line process with barrels being changed over with the cure and being placed back in their position. In the end I had ten empty barrels and fifty barrels of Blood Wine with my cure inside it. There was enough to cure probably five hundred vampires but how good it would be would depend on the party and how long it took for the vampires to realize something was up.
I looked at my watch – a half hour had passed between coming through the gate and being finished. I told everyone to get back in the truck and after turning around we headed back out. The only fear I had was the back door being opened too early and it would ruin the final ruse. I drove up to the guards and they pretty much waved me through. In and out like ghosts.
I had one final card to play though. I stopped once we were out of sight. Opening the back one more time I let Jade Slade and Oni Kim slip out. They had one mission which was to fake an attack on the very gate we just left. I wanted Mr. Lies to continue to have his illusion that his fortress was impregnable. The cost would be one of his troops. The vampire who twisted Jade’s nipple. The girls donned hoods for the occasion and then I let them loose. I didn’t have long to wait as they came running back in less than five minutes. Jade removed her hood and there was a grin across her face.
I had instructed them to leave the other guard alive to tell them people had attacked. My hope was that Mr.. Lies would maybe tighten security by the gate but that would leave less guards elsewhere. We hopped into the van and headed home although not directly we traveled the long way around to the warehouse and finally an hour later arrived.
The report was good. The reaction to our little attack had cause Mr. Lies to triple his guard on the back gate. That meant there was less guards at the front gate. I smiled, now all we had to do was wait till Halloween night. It was going to be quite the party.
