The thing about lifting in gym is the fact you are being watched. This is why up to this point I have avoided being part of a gym and lifted at home. The thing is I now am beginning to like the equipment options at Beagle Fit so I am also developing an attitude of – does it look like I care what you think? For me my competition remains myself and if I can look toward that end I can enjoy this whole thing better. I must say though I do catch myself wondering what people are thinking. I would also be lying if I didn’t confess that my efforts seem to increase whenever there are women around. It is subconscious really but I look back at a particular exercise and think – ” I did better than that than I thought and it probably was because that girl was standing nearby. I guess I am still a man who still wants to impress but doesn’t give a damn in the end if you judge me.
Next week is unique in that with the Thanksgiving holiday and several canceled classes I could lift many days. I am thinking that this will allow me to lift Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. It would be a nice four-day split and I could start working on my stretching with the extra time from not trying to stuff so many exercise into one day. It will also be a good test of what I aiming to do which is a four-day split starting in December but in the early AM once school is back on. Monday Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. I am thinking I might be able to get up at 4:30 or 5am and get to the gym and come back home and then go to class. I am going to have to do this next semester thanks to scheduling. If that is so the amount of people in the gym might be much less the only downside is the extra gas.
The Body Rundown:
Strength: Been a another good week and I pushed some of the weight limits a little higher. I have not faced a PR other than Leg Press which is every time I do it, but I feel that in some few months I might be facing quite a few.
Flexibility: Like I said stretching might be in the near future because I can limit the number of exercises. I also feel like I reached the point where stretching would be very helpful overall.
Cardio: I might start a little of this plus all the walking I do. Five minutes building to ten minutes of HITT I think just to add some more pressure to things.
Nutrition: Yeah, Holidays are upon us and I never have liked being a Nutrition Nazi at this time of year, so I will probably not do much watching of the diet on days where we gather but watch if far more closely on days when it is just me and the food.
