Ayn Jones’ third term starts out with some interesting questions. Normally in the MegaTraveller Universe people can start taking anagathics which are age retarding drugs at age 30. They don’t really start to have effect until age 34 but they do reduce the saves needed for physical attributes at the character ages. Ayn doesn’t really need this but from a game standpoint and a story standpoint it simply makes things easier. I did however not want to take away benefits for being seemingly on anagathics for Miss Jones. That’s when the story line of her continued involvement with the Anagathics Research Project came to mind. She loses no mustering out benefits and this might be interesting as far as story later.
Ayn puts in for a transfer and at this point I fudged one die roll to get her into the Exploration sub-branch. I have been basically now running with the idea of how I can get her to serve in every sub-branch of the scout service. After that though things ran pretty normally for her third term with random dice rolls.
First Year (age 31): assignment: 4 (Training), Survival: 6, Contact School – 2 skills: Liaison-1, Streetwise-1. No promotion.
Second Year (age 32): assignment: 10 (Special Mission) Survival: 10, Skills: 6 – Roll on Special Mission Table: Bribery-1. No promotion.
Third Year (age 33): assignment: 6 (Routine), Survival: 4 (close call), Skills: 10 – Space Cascade – choses Navigation which improves her level from 1 to 2, Promotion: RS-6 to RS-7 (Assistant Supervisor).
Fourth Year (age 34): assignment: 12 (Transfer to Bureaucracy) accepts. gains two promotions for previous 2 terms served moves from RS-7 to RS-12 (Administrator). Assigned to Technical Branch, Gains Computer-1 as initial training for Technical. Assignment: 5 Training. Survival: Automatic, Skills: Technological School – 1 skill – Electronics-1, No promotion.
She gained a brownie point for a term served, one for her special mission and one for her ‘commission’ to ‘officer’ rank. She has five total.

Character Notes: Ayn Jones underwent a anagathics experiment from the time she was 18 to 19. The experiment was a success and in addition to retarding her aging process to 10% normal (1 year for every ten – she ages one year every time her chronological Age hits a year with a nine(9) on the end), it also added 2 points to her Strength, Dexterity and Endurance. Her original UPP was: 88AC8A. She has a degree in Stellar Navigation from Aurora University. Brownie points – 5
This was a pretty good term for learning skills so I decided to check how many more skills she can have. Her intelligence and education add up to 26 skill levels at present. She currently has 16 skill levels so she has ten skill levels left. She might be pushing that in two terms but more likely three. Computer-1 skill is also Robot Ops minus 1 so she picked up Robot Ops-0 as a default skill that does not count toward this limit.
The story is going to shift a little now that she is in more of the leader class of Scout but also it puts her in the realm of possibly being a solo spy type scout which is definitely fitting with her character. We will see where the dice take us.
