There is always something odd about the end of a year for me. This is especially true the older I get because it feels like they get closer together. In any case, the oddness seem or stem from this idea that this is a time of new beginnings. I kind of look at it that way but in truth I have been trying to make progress on very specific things for the last many years. All the end of a year really does is it makes a good time for complete evaluation fo progress and then reset some things is they need resetting.
I am going to do a massive reset button push in the coming day or two. The issue is to evaluate progress, adjust course and then move forward. To do this I am going to be writing a mini series over the next day or two that will be doing just that – assessing what has been done so far, getting a better sense of where I am and then plotting a course for 2016. The Series title will be just that “Plotting the Course for 2016”. I will be taking my twelve areas that I try to make progress on each year in six parts and probably have a final post as a series reflection.
I wrote a similar thing about two years ago that I will be looking at for comparison purposes. Hopefully, I haven’t fallen too short. In any case, this blog is now serving as a good way to help measure progress for a lot of my life. Hopefully this series will help with that as well.
One final note concerning writing. Once this post is published I will have 16 posts left to reach my goal of 2000 posts by year end. This means roughly 5 posts as day plus one. I am hoping to get as far as I can the next two days so New Year’s Eve will be pretty light. No rundowns for anything this week. This series should do a lot of that for me.
Blessings and Cheers!!!
