Anyone who knows me probably considers me a non-outdoor person. Truth is I am just an anti-allergy person. I don’t like the great outdoors that much because on many occasions it has attacked me without even doing anything but just being there. Now despite not going outside a lot I still have allergy attacks at certain items of the year – like now. That said, I have in the last year or so discovered something fairly remarkable and the first time I felt ‘better living through chemistry” might actually have some validity – Flonase.
Last year my allergies returned with a vengeance and so I finally broke down and bought so Flonase as my most common symptom of my allergies is sneezing and Nasal congestion. The stuff work like a charm and I was able to actually clean the garage last year without sneezing hardly at all. This has opened up a new world of possibilities for me so I have been thinking on those possibilities.
Right now I have a light cold, I know it is a cold because the Flonase did not completely work but my sneezing fits are in check because usually a cold, even a light one, is murder during allergy season. The thing is, this has gotten me to thinking that maybe there are not some activities open to me that were not before. I have been looking for an activity that I can do outdoors during the summer when school is not in session. I have been walking all over campus and it has really helped my health. I do feel much better. I also schlep a pretty heavy backpack and the other day I had some downtime and I started thinking that I was really hiking in miniature form so perhaps hiking this summer might be an outlet, but I know nothing about it. I will have to look at it. It might also go along with my reading list for the summer. Hike somewhere, read a couple of hours, hike back.
No rundown, it has been difficult this week between allergies and a cold but I did get Leg Day in so that was a plus.
Blessings and Cheers!!!
