  1. Very few people consider the implications of the second question God asked Adam, “Who told you that you were naked?”. There was a fourth character in this story that God never interviewed, Satan, and by prefacing this question with “Who”, God was implicating Satan as the source of the false shame associated with physical nakedness.

Was Satan thinking fast-forward to today’s fashion industry and all the ludicrous profits it makes, or was there something far more basic on his mind? Adam and Eve possessed what Satan did not, nor could he ever possess, the image of God. God is Satan’s arch-enemy, and anything that reminds him of God turns his stomach, including our unadorned bodies. Cajoling Adam and Eve to don those fig-leaves allowed Satan to no longer have to see all of what God created and called “very good”.

People have believed the lie that physical nakedness is shameful ever since, and now, in spite of the overwhelming Biblical evidence to the contrary, the church has even picked up the mantle and called it their own. Our foe is Satan, the father of lies, and what is particularly sad is that the church teaches Satan’s lie as the “gospel-truth”.

    God bless!

    • I think you are more on the right track with the idea that Satan simple hated the image of God and wanted to mess that up in some way. It does indeed grieve me more that the church can’t see this is part of the problem and part of the lie.

      Blessings and Cheers!!!
