I have done a lot of art searches over the last few months and when it comes to ‘spiritual nudity’ Karol Bak’s name comes up a lot. Karol’s art often involves women and his work is almost photographic except for the artistic swirls and patterns around his subjects. It has a surreal quality to it which is why he is indeed a Surrealist. He is from Poland and is currently alive and well-being born in 1961. I have come to find his work interesting and I do like it because it does have a spiritual elements to it although it is not clear what that spiritual element is. Perhaps this is why I like it, as no matter what the women in his works seem mysterious. His theme is the beauty of women and he attempts to get the spiritual side of that as well as the physical.
A few other examples of his work:
As you can see he does not shy away from the female form but he also mixes it with patterns and swirls that express the spiritual side of his subject. The physical side speaks for itself. I am going to be looking at his work a little more closely but I would like some of your comments on it first. Is Bak’s work just nice or does it indeed have a spiritual side to it?
I hope to look closer at one of his paintings. One that I find particularly intriguing in its spiritual presentation.
Thoughts?
Blessings and Cheers!!!
I like his work. He has an exquisite-command of the female form and anatomy. Some pieces seem to have a bit of Native-American influence blended with fantasy-art. As God’s final creation, woman represents the pinnacle of His creative-genius, function combined with beauty. How can we not give our Creator praise for His handiwork?
Cheers!
